Hey all! We just want to let you know that smart meters (the meter your electric company uses to monitor your power usage) are being introduced to our area, and it is possible to opt out! But why would you want to opt out? Smart Meters have been found to release harmful radiation, leading to increased incidence of deadly disorders in the body, reproductive complications, and cell damage. In addition, smart meters have been shown to have adverse impacts on the environment, interfering with the healthy growth of plants and surrounding wildlife. On top of all this, they have been found to be fire hazards! We are not trying to fear monger, but to inform. Once you receive a noticesaying they are coming, they are entitled to show up any day to install a Smart Meter. You may end up getting home that night to find a note on your door saying they have been installed. In addition, if you wait until it is installed, you may have to pay a fee for it's removal. You have the RIGHT and the CHOICE to say NO before they install.
