The Science of Sage Smudging

Hey, Health Stoppers!

smudge
It's that time of year again... the thinning of the veils, the approach of All Hallows Eve, the time when the ethereal energies are at their strongest - leaving us much more vulnerable than usual. This is the best time of year for sage smudging, as it's the best method for keeping creepier entities at bay!
The practice of smudging has been around for thousands of years, seeming to cross continents and cultures (though the medium used to smudge may vary). But why is 'holy smoke' such a universal practice? Could there be any science behind it? Turns out, as with many other ancient practices, there is!
Why Smudging is Beneficial (Aside from keeping away ghosts and ghouls!)
In this email we will be addressing the benefits of smudging with Artemisia ludoviciana (white prairie sage), specifically.
1.Smudging has been found to have both anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties.
2.Smudging has been shown to repel insects!
3.Smudging is thought to release negative ions, and is said to neutralize positive ions. Examples of positive ions are : pet dander, pollution, dust and mold. Therefore, smudging can dramatically help those with asthma, allergies and bronchitis. Just don't inhale the smoke! Smudge the area and then wait until smoke clears to re-enter your newly cleansed environment!
4.Smudging has been found to have a positive effect on individuals with anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. Smudging may also help soothe stress.
5.Smudging may help improve sleep, acting as a remedy for insomnia.
6.Smudging has been found to improve cognition, focus, and may help boost energy levels.
We've gotten in a new, huge shipment of sage in! Come by and get yours today, and keep the ghosts and ghouls (or mold and dust bunnies) at bay!
